Our Expertise & Mission

At Chalfont Guidance Center, our mission is to provide expert psychiatric treatment, to ensure our patients live happy, healthy, and fulfilled lives.

Our doctorally prepared, board certified psychiatric nurse practitioner, provides individualized, holistic psychiatric evaluations for all new patients. Established patients continue care with CGC, starting with monthly medication management sessions. Once stable, and depending on the treatment goals, patients may be seen on a monthly or bimonthly basis.

Beyond psychiatric evaluation and medication management, we also offer GeneSight genetic testing for patients with treatment resistant conditions.

If you are interested in exclusively therapy, we have excellent referral sources that provide a myriad of therapeutic treatment modalities.

SERVICES

Chalfont Guidance Center offers thoughtful psychiatric treatment, performed by a doctorally prepared psychiatric nurse practitioner.

We understand prioritizing mental wellness can be difficult with demanding careers, home obligations, and juggling multiple schedules. We offer our services in our comfortable, and convenient office setting; and we also offer remote sessions via telehealth.

Initial Psychiatric Evaluation

60 minutes

An initial psychiatric evaluation is required for all new patients. During this session, we will discuss current concerns, previous treatment, medical histories, and request you provide any additional information that may be helpful for treatment. At the conclusion of the evaluation a working diagnosis will be established and an initial treatment plan will be agreed upon. If medication is recommended, uses of the medicine, side effects, and any warnings will be discussed in detail.

Medication Management Follow Up

30 minutes

These appointments, for established patients, are follow up appointments to discuss how treatment is progressing. Patients are encouraged to bring all treatment progress information, medication concerns, and/or any general questions to these appointments. Follow up appointments typically occur monthly. Abbreviated psychotherapy is typical during most follow up appointments.
